Most of us think of wheelchair ramps when we think of accessibility modifications and wheelchair ramps are one of the most common modifications we make for Clients. However, accessibility modifications can also include doorway alterations to accommodate a wheelchair, tub/shower conversions and other bathroom and kitchen remodeling to increase safety, improving lighting for someone with diminished vision, removing a threshold for someone who uses a walker and installing grab bars to make bathing safer.

As our population ages, many of us will find ourselves in need of modifications to make our living spaces more accessible.

Accessibility Modications was created to fill a need in Western North Carolina, especially in the Asheville, Hendersonville and Brevard areas.  Clients often comment that they didn't realize there were companies that specialized in accessibility in our area. Knowing that we are Accessibility Specialists gives our Clients the peace of mind that the modifications we make, whether building a custom wheelchair ramp, installing handrails, weatherizing a home to make it more comfortable or installing bathroom grab bars will be done according to ADA recommendations and with attention to detail.

As a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), I am qualified to help clients continue to live in their homes safely, independently and comfortably.
